Hello and welcome to our Ravenswood (West Wickham) WI website. I do hope you like what you have seen and read about us. We are a friendly membership who are happy to welcome both visitors and new members alike, so please don’t be shy and give us a try. Incidentally, there is no charge for your carer when attending with a Visitor or Member.
At most of our monthly meetings, we have a book swap table and trading table, both of which are very popular. We have a variety of speakers, as shown in our programme, as well as perhaps a quiz, game or challenge (all in the name of fun). We also have the occasional raffle, and a cup of tea (please bring a cup with you) and a biscuit await you, all for a mere £2 as a visitor.
In addition, we have groups for Art and Craft (including card making), Performing Arts, as well as Sports and Leisure, at varying venues, which any member can join. Each of these groups will be pleased to welcome you.
I am also very proud to say that Members of Ravenswood (West Wickham) WI run a Dementia Café for those living with Dementia and their carers. This was initiated for the WI National Centenary. Memory Box meetings are held at Emmanuel Church Hall on the first and third Friday of the month, throughout the year. Meetings begin at 2pm and finish usually at 3.30pm and we enjoy various activities along with offering support, information and entertainment. These sessions have proved to be very popular and successful and are supported by volunteers from our WI along with other local WI’s, churches and the local community.
If I have tempted you and you wish to visit us, please make contact via our contact form and let us know. You will be made welcome and are entitled to make up to three visits in a year at a charge of £2 per visit. You are of course, welcome to join at any point.
St Francis Church Hall is easy to find in the centre of West Wickham and there is a car park directly opposite, which is free of charge from 6.30 in the evening. We are currently not aware of any proposal to introduce a charge. See "more ......" (above, in menu bar) for link to Google maps.
I do hope to meet you in the near future and hope you will be happy to join us.
